Some words about the doctor
Dr. Mary Triantafyllidou, endocrinologist-diabetes specialist, studied medicine in Thessaloniki medical school and, after graduation in 2007, worked as a locum doctor (Foundation year 1 and 2) in several hospitals in England and Scotland.
In 2010 the doctor returned to Greece to start her specialty training in Internal medicine in Kavala General Hospital. In 2012 she moved to Switzerland, to continue her specialty training, in Internal medicine initially and after receiving the title of Specialist of Internal Medicine, she continued on to the specialty title of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
She worked as an endocrinology specialist in Lucerne Cantonal Hospital as well as in Zurich University Hospital. As part of everyday clinical practice she participated in multidisciplinary boards on adiposity, thyroid and pituitary.
Additionally, she took part as a study doctor in several programs of which most important was the DIABOS study, in collaboration with Basel University Endocrinology Clinic, onthe association between diabetes and osteoporosis.
She still works together with Zurich University endocrinology clinic, on a doctoral about pituitary tumors. Dr. Mary Triantafyllidou believes in ongoing medical education; thus she continually attends and participates in seminars and congresses in Greece and abroad.
